We Are South Lakes Rock School
South Lakes Rock School was formed in 2012 with a simple idea — that learning music should be as exciting as playing it live on stage.
We wanted to move beyond traditional music lessons and create a place where young people could develop their skills, have a band experience and perform in front of real audiences.
From the very first lesson, in addition to practising scales students are playing real songs and building confidence every step of the way.
We’ve watched shy beginners grow into fearless performers, and experienced musicians find new ways to challenge themselves. Today, South Lakes Rock School is a thriving community where creativity, friendship and music come together. Whether you dream of headlining a festival or just want to play for fun, we’re here to make sure you love the journey

Lesley Harris
Lesley has a lifelong passion for music and a dedication to helping others discover their own musical potential.
With years of experience in music education and a belief that learning should be both fun and inspiring, she founded South Lakes Rock School to create a welcoming space for students of all abilities.
Lesley is committed to fostering confidence, creativity and teamwork, giving every student the chance to shine on stage and enjoy the lifelong benefits of making music.
