SOUTH LAKES ROCK SCHOOL offers instrumental and vocal lessons to students of all musical abilities.
Lessons are tailored to our students, from complete beginners to those with more experience.

We believe in the importance and benefits of making music with others, that’s why our lessons focus on Skills and Performance. Courses are flexible and students have an input, learning songs that they know and love.

Guitar
We teach Electric and Acoustic Guitar, covering skills and techniques for your chosen instrument plus how to interpret tabs and chord charts.
Instruments are provided for taster lessons – but its always good to have your own and we can help source the best instrument for you.
Bass Guitar
We teach Bass Guitar, covering skills and techniques for your chosen instrument plus how to interpret tabs and chord charts.
Instruments are provided for taster lessons – but its always good to have your own and we can help source the best instrument for you.
Ukulele
We teach the Ukulele, covering skills and techniques for your chosen instrument plus how to interpret tabs and chord charts.
Instruments are provided for taster lessons – but its always good to have your own and we can help source the best instrument for you.
Keyboard and Piano
With a range of instruments available at our venue, including Yamaha and Korg keyboards and a full size Kapps Grand Piano, we can tailor lessons to meet individual student needs – whether you are a complete beginner or a more experienced player.
You can also learn to read staff notation and interpret chord charts as your skills develop!
Drums
Drum lessons at RockSchool are mainly taught on Yamaha and Korg Electronic drum kits. We can also offer lessons on acoustic kit outside of RockSchool, with several refurbished vintage kits available for lessons.
All our students are encouraged to develop their reading of drum notation alongside progressing instrumental skills.
Vocals
Our lessons focus on good Vocal technique and skills, with songs you will want to sing! Breathing and warm-up exercises are included alongside songs from the rock. pop and musical theatre repertoire.
Sight reading of staff notation is encouraged as your skills develop.

Rockschool
Specialising in Rock & Pop music, we offer lessons on electric and acoustic guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, ukulele and vocals/singing, following the Trinity Rock & Pop programme.
1 – 1 Lessons
Online lessons are proving popular with those who prefer to take their lessons at home.
We offer 1:1 sessions across the week in all instruments and voice, from beginners to those more experienced and from age 5 to adult.
Private Parties
Private Parties – £12.50 per child per hour. Accommodating between 8 and 15 guests.
Performance to friends and family.
